Siemens' masterpiece 16x26cm diameter full-range driver system - high sound quality and high efficiency
This is a pair of speakers with units originally used in high-end Siemens consoles manufactured in 1962, set in an open-rear enclosure.
Despite being made over 60 years ago, the units still produce some of the best sound available today.
However, due to their construction, vintage units of this size tend to have a very high midrange level and a lack of bass.
There is a common belief that many small European vintage speaker systems should be sold with minimal bass, and such sounds are indeed common.
When measuring the frequency response, the bass response extends quite low, making it a shame to give up on it.
This is difficult to improve simply by increasing the enclosure size or adopting bass reflex or horn designs.
However, by using a robust 25mm thick enclosure and performing precise static correction using PHST, we were able to transform this into an incredibly wide-bandwidth system.
・Highly recommended for lovers of jazz and classical music from the 1950s to the 1980s.
・As shown in image 10, this tuned system reproduces 50-17000Hz almost flatly, an astonishingly wide bandwidth and fast response, resulting in surprisingly high sound quality that is difficult even for modern speakers.

[4] Sound
・Please note that the following impressions are subjective.
・In Miles Davis's "Steamin'", recorded in the 1950s, the trumpet and tenor saxophone
come forward well, allowing you to hear the essence of hard bop.
・Also, the bass powerfully lays down the rhythm, enhancing the value of this CD.
・I listened to the classic SACD "Mozart, Clarinet Concerto K.622".
・I think the rich sound of the woodwinds is beautifully reproduced.
・Overall, I think this is an ideal speaker system for reproducing acoustic music.
[5] Other
・Stand not included.
・PHST is included to further widen the range.
