For sale: 1964 Vox AC30 combo. This is the grey panelled T version (treble not Top-boost) with the six controls instead of eight. I purchased this from ‘the Vox man’ in Norwich in the early 1990s and have used it in all the bands I have played in since then. As the pictures show, it has been used and giggled a lot, but this also means it has been looked after to play and sound as good as it can, in complete working order. It has also been serviced regularly, most recently of August this year. The middle handle was missing when I purchased it and I’ve never felt the need to have one. The side handles split and were replaced about ten years ago. The vib-trem circuit works beautifully although the foot switch had been replaced before I bought the amplifier. Fane speakers were installed in Bristol about twenty years ago while on tour.
I’ll be sad to see this go as it has served me well over the last thirty years of gigging. The venues I play now are just too small for the volume and it needs a younger skeleton to be lugging it around! This is a truly iconic guitar amp from late (December ?) 1964 and is a solid investment for the future. It needs to be heard and played to truly appreciate what they are and why bands continue to use them to this day. All viewings / playings very welcome.
