ABB CM-MSS.12S Thermistor Motor Protection Relay. Designed to protect motors and other equipment from thermal overloads and overheating by directly monitoring the temperature via PTC thermistor sensors.
Functionality: It operates with a rated control supply voltage of 24 V AC/DC and features a 1 c/o (SPDT) output contact rated at 250 V / 4 A. It monitors one sensor circuit connected to PTC temperature sensors and works on a closed-circuit principle, automatically resetting after a fault is cleared.
Protection: The relay detects excessive temperatures in motor windings or other components, triggering a shutdown to prevent damage caused by heavy starting, high switching frequencies, phase unbalance, or insufficient cooling, among others.
Installation: Designed for easy installation, it features screw terminals for wiring and can be mounted on a DIN rail. A sealable transparent cover is available as an accessory for protection against unauthorized changes.
