This is a custom version of 8998 Toa Mata Nui, swapping the yellow and gold parts for gray and silver, to represent the Great Spirit Robot. The original figure's shoulder blades, weapons, mask, and Glatorian life counter have all been omitted to better represent the GSR's in-fiction appearance. The head has been replaced for a slightly older style, and a spare is included, so you can choose between Mata Nui or Makuta in control of the robot!
This is a one-of-a-kind model. It will be sent disassembled; the regular instructions for 8998 are easy to follow, so you can have the fun of building it yourself. Apart from the head and colours, the build is identical to the retail model. Please refer to the photos in this listing if you're unsure!
All of the 2008 Phantoka-style sockets have been replaced with more robust Hero Factory CCBS sockets, which function identically and can stand up to repeated assembly and disassembly. Unfortunately, this still leaves the Matoran/Agori arms on the figure's back using the fragile 2008 sockets; the ones included are intact and undamaged. Although the parts are all secondhand, they're in good condition.
