Very rare 1st Limited Edition (500) signed deck of Chris Paradis' Rock & Roll Tarot published 2000, contains 88 cards which include the 22 Major and 56 Minor Arcana, the Title and signature card plus card content lists which feature a different star on each card and the music represented, the four Minor Arcana suits which are represented by Voice, Albums, Muse & Guitars and finally Introduction and Acknowledgment cards. The cards are in excellent used condition and the set is complete.
The suits are represented by a plethora of Rock & Roll stars from the 40/50/60/70s to the end of the 20th century, the 'Guitars' suit includes Hendrix, Metallica, Clapton, The Beatles, Kiss, Black Sabbath, Aerosmith and Tom Petty, the 'Albums' suit features Cher, Genesis, Carly Simon, beach Boys, Eagles, Springsteen and Billy Joel, the 'Voice' cards present Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, Bee Gees, Queen, Iggy Pop, Bob Marley, and James Brown, and the 'Muse' suits have Jefferson Airplane, George Michael. U2, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Moody Blues, Bjork, Kate Bush and Stevie Wonder, to name but a few. The Major Arcana are represented by stars like Tina Turner (2.The High Priestess), Elvis (4. The Emperor), Bowie (6. The Lovers), Bob Dylan (9. The Hermit), John Lennon (13. Death), The Rolling Stones (16. Rolling Stones), Elton John (19. The Sun) and Michael Jackson (21.The World). The 'pop & rock history' content of many of these cards now, 25 years later, means much more than when they were first published in 2000, you can see the details of all the cards as each one in the deck has been scanned and downloaded to the image section of this auction, there is also a good deal of information and card content listed on the additional text cards, the deck comes in a hinged wooden storage box for protection and a tarot carry bag is also provided.
This is a very rare deck now as many of the complete 88 card signed decks from the year 2000 have been split and sold singly, most single cards sell for an average of at least £20 each.
