FAMOUS Sansui AU-20000 Integrated Amplifier - TEARDOWN RESTORATION

Sansui AU-20000 — RESTORED/TESTED/VERIFIED
For sale is a Sansui AU-20000 Integrated Amplifier, built in Japan in 1976. Considered by some to be the finest sounding Sansui ever produced.

The amplifier has been restored, cleaned and tested.  The work performed is listed below.  The 2500 is a rated at 170 watts per channel. 

This amplifier has undergone a full tear down restoration with all boards, components, switches and panels removed and cleaned upgraded with modern components and restored.

The unit came in with scratches on the mahogany panels and faceplate. The panels were outsourced to an automotive paint specialist for paint matching and auto quality paint. The faceplate was deconstructed and black paint applied to the to the top of the faceplate. The results are pictured.

Bias and offset have been performed as recommended in the service manual.

This amplifier will provide another 40 years of sound performance.

Complete recap and servicing of all boards: Electrolytic capacitors, troublesome diodes and transistors, resistors have been replaced with modern equivalents of superior quality
New filter capacitors
Power supply rebuilt to modern standards
New On-Semi output transistors
Fuses added to protect transfomer
Rivet pass throughs on output boards reinforced.
Hot running resistors remote mounted to side panel
New relays
All switches, selectors and potentiometers cleaned for noise free operation
Bias and offset adjusted
