Nakamichi 480 Cassette Deck
This is a fully restored Nakamichi 480. It is a 2 head cassette deck. This machine has Dolby B noise reduction and can record on Type1, 2 or metal tape. It is calibrated for TDK tape. It performs to original specifications.

Compatible with normal, chrome and metal tape.
Belt driven dual-capstan transport.
D'Arsonval movement peak reading meters.
Full-logic transport controls for fast and effortless transport function selection.
Memory Stop.
It has had the transport disassembled, cleaned, new lubrication applied and realigned. It has been carefully aligned using a Sound Technology 1510A tape recorder test set and STL alignment tapes.
The transport has been rebuilt with all new belts and idler pulley. The electronics have been aligned and it has been recapped. The orange capacitors have been replaced along with a few of the larger electrolytic capacitors.
The record level control knobs are 3D printed with PLA, but closely match the original knobs.
Keep in mind that this is 40 years old. Things can happen in shipping. I test things very thoroughly, but some things are beyond my control. If you have problems with this machine, please contact me before leaving feedback. I will be happy to take it back and refund you or possibly repair it. I have been working on such equipment for many years and I know my way around this type of gear.
