The Pioneer M-90 power amplifier is truly a magnificent piece of equipment, offering tremendous power and a pleasant, dynamic sound. A real treat for the ears. In fact, Pioneer’s entire Urushi series is a masterpiece. The M-90 and M-90a power amplifiers are truly the crowning jewels of the entire series. A testament to the Japanese spirit of engineering.
The device offered for sale here has been extensively refurbished. Four new high-end audio electrolytic capacitors, each with a capacity of 15,000 uF at 100V from Cornell Dubilier, were installed. Furthermore, many signal relays were replaced. In addition, other small and medium-sized electrolytic capacitors were replaced. Additional relays were cleaned. The potentiometers were adjusted.
All necessary measurements were taken.
In summary, this unit is ready for another 50 years of service.
Visually, the power amplifier is in good to very good used condition. Please refer to the photos for the exact visual condition. The side panels are, of course, original Pioneer parts from the Urushi series.
You won’t be able to find another M-90 power amplifier in such superb technical condition. This unit comes from its first owner.
There are just two minor points to note:
1) Unfortunately, the original front-cover is missing. You can order a generic replacement online. It doesn’t cost much.
2) One of the side panels has lost some paint at the rear of the output. See photo. This is really only visible from the back. You can fix this with wood varnish or a touch-up pen.
