A beautiful traditional Richard Broad Grandmother Clock featuring an elegant wooden case, decorative brass dial with moon phase display and a German mechanical movement.

Unlike modern battery-operated clocks, this is a traditional weight-driven mechanical clock. The movement is powered by three brass weights and regulated by a swinging pendulum, producing the classic tick-tock sound associated with quality longcase clocks.

The movement is marked FHS Germany 451-050H (please see photographs). The clock also features a moon phase dial and is believed to have a Westminster chime movement, although this has not been tested.

This clock is being sold as untested.

Unfortunately, I do not have the cabinet key and have therefore been unable to fully inspect or test the movement. The clock is sold exactly as shown in the photographs.

The cabinet has age-related marks and cosmetic wear, including damage around the lower door lock area. Please examine all photographs carefully as they form part of the description.

A lovely restoration project

This would make an excellent restoration project or statement piece for anyone interested in traditional mechanical clocks. Once restored, these clocks provide the distinctive sound and character that only a genuine weight-driven pendulum clock can offer.
