The product is a vintage 1936 Underwood Universal 4 Bank portable typewriter in black. It is a rare and collectible item made of steel, manufactured in the United States. This manual typewriter features a portable design, making it convenient for on-the-go use. It is a piece of history that reflects the craftsmanship and design of typewriters from the past. One of the last in the F production line the UNIVERSAL was replaced with the CHAMPION, pictured is a clean survivor, everything appears to work with some keys gently sticking, the carriage does not advance, although it did prior to the cleaning when the cloth drive belt separated, I have the original case, not pictured, its beat up and in my opinion it is unsalvageable, delaminating, and coming apart at the ends, but will be included if requested (send message) all items are sold as is.
