1988 U.S. One Dollar bill printing error , missing much of the 2nd stage print. This note actually escaped inspection , and was released into circulation as an error. U.S. currency is printed in three stages, with the reverse printed first, then all the black ( including Washington's profile ) on the obverse second and the obverse seals and serial numbers last. The serial numbers and seals are printed as they should be, but apparently the press ran out of ink on the 2nd printing. This happens very rarely and is very scarce to locate in any condition, as the price sheet reflects. Free shipping.
