Spares & Repair Or Display - Vintage Imperial Good Companion Model 6 - Painted Purple
Painted purple, it has a great look, but on closer inspection it has brush strokes.
It's a nice glossy metal paint, just not perfectly done.
Initially it was working well, but out of the blue it started malfunctioning.
It's quite random as it rarely falters at the same point.
I think it may be an escapement problem.
The carriage will stop moving at quite random lengths of the platen, whether striking the keys or spacebar
occasionally a few taps on the spacebar will free it again, other times not.
Pressing the back space key free's it every time.
Sometimes it can type a whole line, next return of the carriage it may falter, many, many times.
I hope this helps to diagnose the problem. The carriage also has quite a heavy feel on returning.
Comes in a very tidy tan leather effect case which locks into the base, complete with it's manual.
