The toy has been opened and removed from the box - many photos - box is in very nice condition.
He is and has always been missing one spur on the boot - easy to replace if you should choose.
You could also repackage the toy with some care and time - I am selling in the condition it is - no alterations.
French Version of the package - He Works and speaks only English
This packaging as pictured features both English and French text.
The voice box inside the doll speaks strictly in English. Perfect working order!! Tested and loud!
Research show that in order to supply the market Woody toys quickly, these bilingual boxes were produced as part of the initial wave of Toy Story merchandise
As a result, Thinkway as an enterprising company, could supply both the US and the Canadian markets simultaneously.

These products were in huge demand at the film release and for the Christmas Season.
Faced with shortages and to avoid multiple package variations, the French version was put on sale at some US locations.
I purchased him at Toys R Us.
He has been removed from box - battery replacement and such. Stored with care for many years.
Hat plastic surround is also loose - see photos - but still in superb condition.
This is the first edition Version 1 Sheriff Woody, What makes this release especially collectible is the early release and the English / French bilingual packaging and labeling,
It is reported that it was only used in the earliest shipments and was quickly replaced by single-language or later reissue boxes.
This version features the smooth cow-pattern vest without the white border, and the removable full-plastic hat.
It also includes the poseable wired armature, a feature discontinued in 1996 due to safety concerns — later boxes were labeled non-poseable. It is also my understanding that the doll is voiced by Jim Hanks (Tom Hanks’ brother) a hallmark of the earliest Woody toys
Because the bilingual Version 1 was only produced in very limited quantities and distributed quickly, surviving boxed examples are a bit rarer than the U.S. only releases. Kids ripped these open due to the popularity and success of the movie.
This is one of the earliest and sought-after variants of Woody and is considered a must have among Toy Story collectors.
It features dual-language packaging (English and French), notably displaying the word "Parlant" on the box.
