Steel rims are robust yet affordable. They can withstand years of use in both summer and winter. The simple design suits any vehicle and can be customized with wheel covers.

The advantages of a steel rim become particularly clear in winter: high resistance to road salt, cold, and moisture, as well as a lower price compared to alloy wheels.

ALCAR Steel wheels are manufactured on automated production lines. The bowl is created in several forming steps on transfer presses with a pressing force of 3,000t. The rims are created through various rolling operations. Here, the material distribution is optimized by means of flow-forming (flow molding) and thus ultimately a further weight saving is achieved. Finally, the rim of a wheel is calibrated to very tight concentricity and axial run-out tolerances.

Both components are assembled and welded fully automatically. The manufacturing process for steel wheels is so precise that the raw wheel can go straight to the paint shop without any mechanical post-processing, in which it is always given a cathodic replacement primer and, depending on the vehicle manufacturer, a top coat.
