A genuine late 19th-century Swiss cylinder music box, housed in its original wooden case with decorative marquetry inlay to the lid and a glass viewing panel.
The music box is in excellent working order, playing cleanly and evenly throughout all airs with smooth, consistent cylinder rotation. The steel comb is complete with no missing or damaged teeth, and the sound is clear and well-balanced.
The original brass pinned cylinder is stamped “1801”, a period tune-set reference number, and the mechanism bears factory markings including “X” and cylinder designation “22”, all consistent with late Victorian Swiss manufacture.
