Rare Vintage 1950s Siemens H8 Movie Projector Kit. Working W/ Original Case, Manual & Letters History
A remarkable piece of mid-century cinema history: a Siemens H8 8mm Film Projector. Produced by the legendary Siemens Kino-Technik division in Germany during the mid-20th century, these machines are celebrated by collectors for their robust, tank-like engineering, distinctive fold-out reel arms, and precision German optics.
This particular unit comes with a fascinating, documented provenance, linking its journey from post-war Germany to an enthusiast in the United States during the Cold War era.

- Original Letter dated November 6, 1952 from Hans Georg Goetzie explaining mail delays through the Soviet zone and technical fixes for running the projector on American power grids, adding incredible historical value.
- Original price and inventory list. This 8mm cinema cameras and accessories from the early 1950s, priced in West German Deutsche Mark (DM) for total of 614.50 DM, which was equivalent to $146.31 based on 1953 rates. Condition & Test Results
- Mechanical & Electrical Functions: Fully tested! The drive motor/Fan works and all reels pulleys and chain responded except the upper reel arm, where the built is cut, and the internal projection lamp illuminates perfectly. All electrical and mechanical controls respond positively.
- Upper Reel Drive Belt: The upper reel pulley does not rotate because the original driving belt has snapped and needs replacement. This is a common, straightforward fix using standard universal polyurethane or spring-wire projector belt cord.
- Cosmetic Condition: The projector body is exceptionally clean for its age. The heavy-duty steel carrying case shows authentic vintage wear, including scratches and a dented corner revealing original factory brass brazing. The case still fits perfectly and provides absolute structural protection.
