Cranberry/Gold Bohemian Art Glass Inkwell Kralik Rams Horns Figurine ca1900.

This stunning probable Kralik art glass inkwell ca 1900 shines with cranberry/gold iridescence and has a striking designed Rams horns brass lid. It stands approximately 3 inches high, 3 inches square and the well opening is an inch and a half in diameter. The lid and hinge work properly and the glass insert fits nicely. The art glass is wonderfully ensconced in an ornate brass filigreed banding with the same Rams horns figure on all sides of the base that matches the Rams horns figure on the lid. The inside of the lid does have stamped numbers which are hard to discern. But they appear to be similar to the stamping seen on similar lids as DEP 10385 and DRGM 168180.  These refer to the German Empire design patents for appearance and function and date the piece to ca 1900. The knowledgeable collector can easily determine this to be a high quality piece and a great historical example of ca 1900 Bohemian Art Glass. But, in my mind, what really sets this piece apart from others in the Art Glass genre is the ornate filigreed base with the matching Rams horns figurine.
