Offered here is " The Book of Disquiet " by Fernando Pessoa, published in English by Exact Change in 1998. The title page states this book is "composed by Bernardo Soars, Assistant Bookkeeper in the City of Lisbon". This edition is translated from by Alfred Mac Adam. Written over the course of Fernando Pessoa's life, The Book of Disquiet was first published in Portuguese as " Livro do Desassossego " in1982. It was pieced together from the thousands of individual manuscript pages left behind after Pessoa's death in 1935. It is a fragmentary lifetime project, left unedited by the author, who introduced is as a "faceless autobiography".
This paperback book is in Very Good Plus condition. The illustrated covers have white titles to the front and spine. The wraps show some subtle scuffing. Edge wear includes a small bump on the front top edge (approx 1/4-inch). The spine is uncreased. The book block is clean save for a few light pinpoint marks on the top edge. The pages within are clean, unmarked, uncreased and bright. The binding is tight. Please see accompanying photographs, which are of the actual item you will receive.
