WW2 REPLICA RATION CHOCOLATE SET

This is a brilliant gift for anyone who likes the 1940s. 

The D bar is a fantastic replica of how American soldiers chocolate tasted in 1941.

The milk chocolate is also a true representation of how chocolate tasted in Britain before rationing completely adulterated the flavour.

We have been able to recreate both these bars through meticulous research, a shop keepers diary and shop log as well as personal family letters of the age

Our D bar replica tastes a lot nicer than the one issued to the America soldiers, as it was designed to save a soldier from hunger, but it was deemed that if it tasted too nice, the soldier would eat it too quickly, rendering the rationing useless. There are many accounts of GI's chipping away at their ration block, and melting it in hot water or milk. But they complained it still didn't taste great. 

This bar we are pleased to say is made as it was but we have added more chocolate. It still will possess a heavy flavour but it is fabulous with a cup of tea
