Crucifix JESUS Plaque VIA CRUCIS 14 Stations of Cross Wood Cross Italy VINTAGE

For your consideration is this VINTAGE 1960s divine looking genuine wood crucifix on a plastic plaque entitled “VIA CRUCIS” which translated means “Way of the Cross”.  The crucifix features a detailed figure of JESUS CHRIST along with the (14) fourteen stations of the cross depicted on both sides of the crucifix.  This plaque was “MADE IN ITALY” as clearly embossed on the backside of the plaque.  Refer to description photos #16, #17 and #18 for more details.  This magnificent looking piece came from my grandmother’s estate and has been safely stored in a climate controlled environment since the mid-1970s.

The crucifix is made out of genuine wood as can be verified in description photos #12, #13, #14 and #15.  The Jesus Christ figure is detailed and is visually moving.  The plaque weighs approximately 3.0 ounces by itself and has overall measurements of 6-7/8” tall (bottom to top), 2-9/16” wide at the bottom (below “Via Crucis”) and 3.75” at the widest (near the top).  The figure of Jesus Christ measures approximately 2-5/16” tall (toes to top of head) and 2-5/16” wide (left hand fingertip to right hand fingertip).  Please refer to description photos #19, #20, #21, #22 and #23 to confirm the overall size dimensions and for more details about what I have described.

There are (7) seven stations depicted on the LEFT side and (7) seven stations on the RIGHT side of Jesus Christ.  Refer to description photos #1, #7 and #8 for more details about what I have described.

The top of the crucifix clearly features the initials “INRI” which stems from the Latin phrase ''Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum'' meaning ''Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews''.  Refer to description photos #1, #3, #5 and #6 for more details about what I have described. 

This Christian crucifix wall décor is an absolutely beautiful piece of artwork.  The face, hair, thorny-crown and torso of Jesus Christ feature astonishing details that is the renowned symbol of Christianity and the death and resurrection of Christ.  For followers of the Christian faith the crucifix serves as a reminder of God's sacrifice of his only Son so that humanity may have salvation and the redeeming benefits of his Passion and death. The crucifix is a sign both of Jesus Christ himself and of the faith of Christians.

This crucifix plaque is over 60 years old and was well taken care of before being safely stored away for the past 50 years.  Before being stored it was prominently displayed over the doorway in my in laws family room.  Overall, the plaque remains in very good condition with extremely minor scattered surface blemishes and wear consistent with honest age.  If you are looking for a beautiful vintage religious piece of Christian artwork to display and bring blessings upon your home this piece will not disappoint you.  Please refer to all the description photos to confirm the overall condition of the plaque and for more details about what I have described.
