Offered is this vintage edition of the classic book "The Trial", written by Franz Kafka and published by Alfred A. Knopf in New York. This is a stated seventh printing of the 1937 first American edition, from November, 1948. There is a black and white illustration at the beginning of each of the ten chapters, as well as a frontispiece.
The book is approx. 7 1/2" x 5 1/4” and contains 296 pages. It is in good to very good condition. The hard cloth cover has only light wear but does have some fading and areas of white blotchiness. The black and blue drawing on the front is still distinct but the black and blue drawing and words on the spine are slightly faded. There is no cracking inside either the front or back cover. The white endpapers have browned. I see no missing or torn pages and all are well-attached to the binding. They have yellowed slightly and there is some occasional light foxing. I see no writing in the book.
