Chris King Titanium No-Threadset Ahead Headset 1,1/8" +Ti-top-cap&bolt retro MTB

First edition Chris King Titanium headset very - rare, made in the USA in very small numbersKing headsets are know to be amonsgt the worlds best and this limited edition 1,1/8" ahead model is the pinacle of 'special' for your bike.
I've owned this headset from new - its been on a road bike that hasn't done many miles when I removed it (around 200 mainly dry road miles)
Condition is as good as you will find one that has been used on a cycle I expect. 
Bearings are still perfectly smooth and it all fits together pefectly. It did come with a black top cap, but I later replaced that with another unbranded Titanium Top Cap complete with Titanium top bolt which are a nice finishing touch. 
The original star-washer was left in the fork of my bike when I removed (it was too high risk to remove it from a carbon fork steerer tube), but these are just standard items used on all King and other headsets. 
Only notable defects on close inspection is the alloy crown-race (that is interchangable with all King headsets) is marked underneath where tools were used to remove it a very tight fit removing it from some Kestrel carbon forks when it came to removing it, Plus note the tiniest of little 'nicks' in the edge of the top-race cap under one of the letter R's of the Chris King text if you study the first photos you can just spot it, its tiny.
These don't come up often - and this is the best buy for an original King Ti headset anywhere, especially with a genuine titanium top cap and bolt.
