ANTIQUE SWISS ORCHESTRAL CYLINDER MUSIC BOX C.1880
Superb example of an orchestral music box in wonderful condition.
Fully professionally serviced cleaned and polished.
Playing perfectly with 8 popular Airs and with seven engine turned tuned Bells, Drum and Castagnettes with 8 hammers to each; It also
has an independent on/off levers so the music can be played with any combination of percussion accompaniment.
Lever winding arm, Stop/start and Change or repeat tune levers.
Housed in a walnut veneered case with a beautifully inlaid cartouche to the front and top with brass and mother of pearl centre, also with cross banding in kingwood and boxwood stringing veneers to top, front and sides. The case has been re-polished to a high standard.
Movement professionally cleaned, serviced and polished and is ready to go.
All teeth, tips and dampers are perfect and it sounds wonderful.
Please note that the tune sheet has been replaced at sometime during its life.
