This radio comes from a private museum of vintage radio equipment curated by a group of enthusiastic Gentlemen from Suffolk. They are now downsizing their collections and many of their machines - I have been lucky enough to acquire a number of models from them, all of them in a cared-for condition and looking for new homes with other collectors.
Here’s one of the very many models offered by Cossor during the ‘30’s that has survived in a gently worn but complete and clean condition. This is a meduim-sized table radio with an interesting front panel design in the Art Deco style of the period.
Wood case has a patina of age and wear to the lacquer as pictured but retains a glossy shine. No damage, cracks, woodworm. Clean and free of the usual dirt build-up. Knobs good, front panel complete. Rear cover in good order, tear to rear vent fabric cover. Chassis is also complete, but mains lead has badly degraded insulation, so the radio can’t be powered up to test as-is. Offered for display or mechanical overhaul.
