LOVE LETTER 3,700 + words -UNREQUITED LOVE - CHRIS & SYBIL,1967 TYPED-MANUSCRIPT

This is an 18-page love letter from a teenage boy to a teenage girl, it is private communication,

Estate sale Foxhall Road NW, Washington DC, 5 March 2011.  (name withheld to respect & protect PRIVACY & confidentiality).

The principals of the estate, during the time period (late 1960's) when this was written:

-He - Assistant General Counsel of the Panama Canal Company , Panama Canal Zone (Central America)

-She - Journalist, Juvenile Book Author, Mother - Graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Journalism

I have owned this  estate archive for 15 years, and this is the first time this manuscript from the archive  has been offered.

I believe the manuscript to be a genuine work of non-fiction, however given that one of the principals of the household was a

Journalist, it could be a mixture of fiction and non-fiction.  

Out of respect for the correspondents, I am only presenting a sample of ONE PAGE of the 18-page manuscript, with is

17 pages of typewritten content, estimated 22 lines per page, with a title page and closing page. There is short paragraph

of PENCIL handwriting on the last page, otherwise is all typewritten on a manual typewriter.

DIMENSIONS:8" width X 10.5" height, unbound, stapled in the upper left hand corner.

Some of the correspondents may have living relatives, and this is personal correspondence, albeit a very, very long love letter.

his ting has taken me 7 hours an 35 minutes to complete

dont throw it away or else

really 8 hours and 10 minutes."

This manuscript is simply about UNREQUITED LOVE, in all the ecstasy and exquisite pain of it.

The winning bidder may have a different take, but that's mine.

-Anyone in the long tail of a love that never quite happened — the almost-relationship, the friendship that held more weight on one side, the years-later reckoning with what was real and what was imagined.

-Panama Canal Zone ; the geographic and place references in the manuscript are most often in Canal Zone.

-Tone feels like high school

-The sub-optimal typing skills of the writer feels authentic; and it was all written in one roughly 8 hour period.
