Description
Modern (late 20thC), luxury bracket clock made by Kieninger, Germany. This spectacular looking clock with every feature the buyer could desire in a clock. Very good condition and perfect working order. Includes winding key and pendulum.
The hardwood case with walnut finish, glazed to front/back with thick, beveled glass and brass 'fish scale' sound frets to the sides. There is barely a mark to the case with its origial deep, glossy finish.
The brass dial with gilt arabic numerals and pierced gilt brass spandrels to the corners. The top two corners feature small, subsidiary dials for altering the chime and strike whilst in the arch of the dial is a working moon roller showing the phase of the moon. The dial centre includes seconds and date dials.
The 8 day clock is keeping good time and operates from a pendulum at the back of the mechanism which ticks with a gentle but audible sound.
To summarise the clocks features:
* choice of quarter chime (Whittington, Westminster, St Michaels or silent)
* night-time shut off selector which silences the chimes from 10pm until 7.15a.m.
* strike silent selector which silences the hourly strike alone
* seconds, date and moonroller dials - the last two change over around midnight

Weighs 9.5kg before wrapping. The clock stands 15" (38cm) high, 12" (30cm) wide and 9" (23cm) deep. The chapter ring (dial) is 6" diameter.
