A superb TRAMP ART Crucifix which probably Dates to late 19th Early 20th Century. Produced throughout Europe between 1870 to 1930s, It was also at the time prevalent in the USA and described as DEPRESSION ART. Objects of this type I think are important parts of social history and will in the future come to be much more appreciated and valued than at present. This excellent example still retains all of its original painted finish. It has no losses to its intricate multi layered and notched construction.
The CORPUS CHRISTIE adds very dramatic visual impact. A stunning piece of Folk Art. Condition is good, A little split in the wood where the feet were attached but no longer are.
