Fully serviced and working perfectly.
The Pioneer SA-8800 is a highly sought-after vintage stereo integrated amplifier produced between 1979 and 1981. It features Pioneer's Non-Switching Amplifier (NSA) design, delivering 80 watts per channel into 8 Ω with a very low distortion rate. It is highly regarded by enthusiasts for its warm sound and striking "blue-line" fluorescent meters.
It is in mint condition without marks and even has the original face place sticker on.
It has been meticulously serviced to a high standard and sounds fantastic.
Fully working blue line fluoroscan display/ VU meter.
- sensitively recapped where required to preserve original sound.
-several transistors known to go noisy with age replaced by modern low noise matched equivalents.
-dual bias trimmers replaced with modern 20 turn trimmers for exact biasing and stability.
-several zener diodes replaced for voltage stability.
- new power on bulb fitted
-DC balance and dual bias set to manufacturers settings.
- All output transistors have been reset with new thermal paste.
-All controls cleaned with Deoxit/ Fader lube for smooth crackle fee functioning.
Easily achieves 80W per channel before clipping.
Equal left and right volume tracking.
Great flat square wave response.
Equal treble and base square wave response
(see oscilloscope photos).
Cleaned internally and externally.
It is in beautiful vitually unmarked condition (the faceplate and knobs look like new)
It functions perfectly as it should and had been soak tested after servicing for several days.
This is a rare fine collectors example of this highly regarded amplifier.
