This is the Altec 846A VALENCIA, a 2-way, 2-speaker system released by ALTEC.

Among Altec’s mid-sized systems, the Valencia holds a prestigious position as one of the company’s most
historically significant and top-tier speaker models. While Altec was primarily known for its commercial and
theater-grade speakers at the time, the Valencia was developed in response to strong demand from
dedicated fans seeking a home-use system. It features a more compact and lightweight design tailored
for residential environments.

The speaker units include the iconic 806A compression driver and 416-Z woofer,
both in the classic Altec Green 16Ω configuration.
The grille boasts a luxurious mosaic lattice design that leaves a lasting impression.
This elegant exterior enhances the overall presentation, perfectly complementing the
rich sonic character of the speakers.

■ Rare Early Model – Matched Pair ■
This particular pair is one of the earliest production models, featuring Douglas fir plywood used for the
top and side panels. The cabinets have consecutive serial numbers and are a fully matched pair.
Both the 806A and 416-Z units also share closely matched serial numbers from
the same production lot. This is a highly rare, one-owner pair, making it exceptionally valuable.

Despite its age, the enclosures, speaker cones, and surrounds are all in excellent condition.
The appearance is also superb, as shown in the photos, reflecting careful ownership and preservation.
