Thanks for looking!
Here we have the Strategy Board Game Axis & Allies: Pacific 1940 Second Edition
It has shrinkwrap on the box so it appears to be new but the shrinkwrap has some torn plastic segments.
I do not know much about it but here is additional information I found online:
Axis & Allies: Pacific 1940 Second Edition is a standalone, theater-level strategy board game from Avalon Hill. Designed for 2 to 4 players, a standard game takes about 6 hours and centers on the Pacific Theater of WWII, featuring over 450 plastic miniatures, a massive 35” x 32” map, and refined rules based on updated FAQs.
Gameplay & Mechanics
Players take on the role of major powers in the Eastern Hemisphere, commanding either Japan or the Allied forces (United States, United Kingdom, or ANZAC). The game’s strategic depth is enriched by several key mechanics:
- Political Situation: The game begins in 1940, meaning the US and Japan are not immediately at war. Historical restrictions dictate when factions can enter the conflict.
- Air & Naval Bases: These are purchasable tokens that can be placed on the board. They allow for unit repairs, increased movement range, and the "scrambling" of defensive planes.
- New Combat Units: Features tactical bombers, mechanized infantry, and anti-aircraft artillery.
- National Objectives: Players earn bonus for capturing specific territories, which creates alternative strategic goals beyond simply attacking the enemy's capital.
The "Global 1940" Experience
While Pacific 1940 is a fully playable stand-alone game, it can be physically combined with Axis & Allies: Europe 1940. When united, the two maps create a massive 70” x 32” playing field that allows up to 6 players to experience a complete, global simulation of World War II
