I have up for sale. 1 high quality vintage horn driver. Unit has the larger heavier threads on the driver exit. I just cannot remember what company made this driver, I’ve even seen these drivers with the Stromburg Carlson sticker attached, possibly IPC even. I’ve personally had it in my collection over 40 years.

I have a hard time just trying to sell something that I can at least fix up a little, especially when I have a good working knowledge on what I am selling. Therefore, I took the liberty of disassembling and testing this unit - I first cleaned & painted this driver (normally I like to powder coat metal, but this isn’t a good idea where magnets and tight tolerances are present due to the high heat involved), thoroughly cleaned the voice coil gap, cleaned, polished, and trued up all aluminum driver surfaces, then I checked the magnetic flux density in the voice coil gap and got around 9000 gauss +/- 100 gauss as I worked my way around the circle, I also tested the driver (using one of my audio generators) with a few sine sweeps from 800 - 20,000 cycles just using my ears (I do not have a horn that fits this driver and did not do any spl measurements) and the response was good up to around 10,000 cycles without using a horn, the diaphragm is of the phenolic type and there is a nice solid aluminum phase plug strategically places just above the diagram, I changed out the flat head screwdriver bolts for nicer hex key bolts as I believe it is worth doing things like that on great vintage gear.

Anyway, please take a look at the pictures as a realistic assessment of what you are buying.

NOTE: The phase plug housing and the diagram housing are aluminum. The black paint does not like to stick to the aluminum, so you will have to handle the driver with care. If the paint needs touching up, I can let you know what paint that I used.
