Please note: This is a power supply unit, it is NOT an amplifier or booster. It is used to power a remote masthead amplifier/booster that is usually situated at the bottom of the aerial mast or in the loft, the power unit is usually behind one of the TVs but can also be elsewhere in the system.
The two main reasons why you will need one of these is that you have just moved into a new property and the previous occupier has taken it with them thinking that it is a booster, you end up with no picture, they end up with a potential fire hazard when connected to a system with no amplifier. The other is if your unit has been over heating, this will be indicated by a darker brownish patch on the plastic housing.
If the LED is showing red and not green, this indicates a short circuit on the power supply input and you will most likely have a fault elsewhere on your system rather than the power supply itself.
